Michael Everson
My interest in typography arose out of an interest in medieval manuscript hands. Later on I got involved with non-Latin alphabets. I'm an expert on writing systems, and Irish representative to ISO/IEC JTC1/SC2/WG2, the international standards committee responsible for the Universal Character Set. My Everson Mono fonts are an attempt to provide UCS support in glorious monowidth. One of my long-term projects is to make all the historic Gaelic typefaces used to write the Irish language available in digital form -- see my CeltScript series. I have a particular interest in the Ogham script, as well as in Inuktitut fonts and typography.
