John Langdon does just about everything that can be done with words. He has been a free-lance graphic designer since 1977, specializing in, and garnering numerous awards for logo design, customized typography, and hand lettering of original letterforms.
He is one of the originators of "ambigrams" - words designed so they can be read from more than one vantage point. Wordplay, a book of his ambigrams and the philosophical, scientific, and linguistic ideas behind them, was published in 1992.
He has also written articles on design for Critique magazine and the Philadelphia AIGA newsletter. His paintings explore words, illusion, and symmetry.
