James fell in love with fonts at an early age, although at the time was limited to the 8x8 pixel characters of the Sinclair Spectrum. He also experimented with other forms of lettering including calligraphy and those horrible Letraset rub-down transfers.
Since graduating as a computer programmer, most of his typographic activities have been confined to his rather limited recreation time. He produces several amateur magazines, builds web pages and designs fonts. He has also partially written a TrueType font designer which he intends to get working one day.
James's myriad of other interests include dinosaurs, playing his guitar and writing science fiction. His computer is not a Mac.
