Originally from Asheville, NC, Delve Withrington attended The Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia where he majored in Graphic Design and Illustration.
After a move to Boston in 1992, Delve opened a private fine art studio in Boston's Fort Point and exhibited throughout New England. He participated in several group exhibitions and open studios from 1993-'96 including two solo shows in 1995. During this period, his interest in typography and skill in type design grew from everyday exposure to typography in his position at an architectural signage company.
Delve moved to San Francisco in 1996 and began the independent design studio, Delve Media Arts. This brought his knowledge of design, typography, art, and business together for the first time. The studio publishes the website "Type Books for the well-read typographer" and specializes in typographic design produced for digital media and the Web. Work for clientele includes: Ziff-Davis, Starbucks, Microsoft, and Hewlett-Packard.
